Abstract
Fixed, fluidized and moving bed types in dry flue gas desulfurization system are well known. The fixed bed type has trend of being larger in size and the fluidized bed type being develped a lot recently has the demerits; the severe erasion of adsorbents and necessity to blow air additionally for fluidizing adsorbents. Therefore, this study has been performed to find out desulfurization characteristics in a batch-type moving bed system, which is rare studied and is possible to compliment the demerits of the fixed and the fluidized bed systems. The results of this study as a preliminary step for a continuous moving bed in dry desulfurization system are as follows. 1. When L/D of the reactor used in this study was over 1.0, the gas flow was a sort of plug flow state. It was thought that when L/D of the reactor was 1.0, the effect of desulfurization reaction by adsorbents was able to be maximized. And also it was found out that the amounts of SO©ü adsorption obtained from this study was the same as that from the fixed bed reactor. 2. The slop of breakthrough curve was gradually slow down as the temperature of the moving bed type reactor was higer. It was found out that the reaction zone of adsorbent. which was reacted with SO©ü was larger as the temperature of the reactor was higher. 3. In the results of the experiments for sulfation reaction characteristics to adsorbents. the temperature which occurred the weight loss of adsorbents was higer as sulfation reaction temperature was higher. So the sulfation reaction of NMO was increased as the reaction temperature was higher.
